Motoring Classics 2018 Classic Car Events Guide

By Motoring Classics - January 08, 2018

With the dust of 2017 just about settling in our rear-view mirrors, it’s exciting to see what the new year holds in the world of motoring and motorsport.

The World's Biggest Motoring Event:

The biggest news of the new year is, of course, the impending 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship which is just a few months out. The tournament lasts from March through to November 2018, and will see the UK’s golden boy, Lewis Hamilton defending his 2017 World Driver’s Champion title.

Hamilton’s title defense, the fourth of his career, will be up for contention as well as his team, Mercedes’ title of World Constructors’ Champion. After an emphatic victory for both driver and team last year, we’ll all anxiously be waiting for what’s on offer from the 2018 season.

Thankfully the year won’t only be peppered with international F1 racing events, but tons of motoring action closer to home. Fans of classic car meets, jumbles, restoration shows, and auctions are in for a treat in 2018 with more events than ever before throughout the UK.

We’ll be there for some of these shows either as promoters or attendees, depending on the event. With so much happening, it’s a good idea to keep track of all these events by either signing up for our monthly events emails below, or bookmarking our Motoring Classics Events Guide and checking back to make sure you’re not missing out on any of the action.

The Footman James Classic Vehicle Restoration Show is one-to-watch in November. It slots itself neatly alongside two titan UK events, NEC Birmingham and Nitro Circus.

While the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show is annually celebrated as the UK’s biggest motoring event of all time; Nitro Circus is a world-renowned, action-packed international touring show from the USA that draws some of the biggest crowds.

The adrenaline-fueled showcase features races, jumps and all sorts of motor vehicle and motorcycle mayhem in a one-of-a-kind, heart-stopping event. A fantastic way to round off an absolutely awesome year of motoring fixtures.
